National Mentoring Month takes place each year throughout January. it shines a celebratory spotlight on those who are currently involved in youth mentoring, and suggests to those who’ve been thinking about becoming mentors that January might be the perfect time to do so.
Some believe that mentoring is on hiatus during the pandemic. This isn’t the situation at Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters. Because we know the importance of an uninterrupted bond between Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Little Brothers and Little Sisters, we’re happy to say we’ve been able to transition the bulk of our matches from in-person meetings to virtual get-togethers. These online match meetings will likely switch back to in-person meetings once the current health crisis subsides. But, for now, we feel it’s the most prudent option.
